When night falls, the bars and restaurants transform the peaceful atmosphere of Punta Mita into one full of life and flavor. Many of the local spots feature live music and exciting shows with performers from all over the world. La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Pancha’s and Expressions Café are just a few of the spots that are among the favorites. For those who are looking for a more action-packed evening, Puerto Vallarta is a quick trip down the coast. As the first true nightclub, it continues to be the place to go. There is a Happy Hour daily from 6pm-8pm, but the real action doesn't start until about 10pm. There is often a waiting period to get in, and snagging drink service can be a challenge, but most of the clientele doesn't mind. Dance floor too crowded? Dancing on the tables is common. Food is served but most customers are here for the party, not the cuisine
Christine Discotheque (The) NH Krystal Vallarta Puerto Vallarta 48300 Mexico +52 322 224 0202 Open Hours: 10p-5a	Located at the NH Krystal Vallarta resort, this well-equipped club known as the most beautiful place in the world, attracts many hotel guests, conventioneers and dance fanatics. There's a top-notch laser light show, a fog machine, beat-heavy music, and real '70s-style lighting to help everyone disco the night away. Big video screens plaster the walls, and there's usually a line to get in. The cover charge runs from nothing to USD 30, so call to find out what the fee is for the night
El Hilo 588 Paseo Diaz Ordaz Puerto Vallarta Mexico +52 3 222 2230 Open Hours: 11a-2a	If you like to party hearty, then El Hilo is the place for you. Whenever your travels take you to Puerto Vallarta and you've got the itch to get wild and crazy this joint is the place that smokes! Offering great food, with an American accent, nobody goes home hungry from El Hilo. Be sure to bring your dancin' feet, as you will want to groove to the crowded dance floor. Plenty of music rocks the house with international favorites played by both DJs and live bands. When you go there, it's not necessary that you dress to impress, but there is a strictly enforced dress code, so forget those funky sneakers and tacky tank tops.
Senor Frogs Venustiano Carranza 218 at Ignacio L. Vallarta Puerto Vallarta 48380 Mexico +52 322 222 5177 Open Hours: Noon-4a	This enormous tourist-friendly nightclub draws a crowd big enough to fill it almost every night. It is known for a wild, happy time, attracting twenty- and thirty-year-olds that are up to the spontaneous ladies' tequila drinking contests offered as interactive entertainment. The music is loud, persistent, and usually recorded, but occasionally the club will book a live band for a special night. It is a college spring break favorite, so expect it to be particularly jammed during that season.
Zoo (The) Paseo Diaz Ordaz 630 Puerto Vallarta 48300 Mexico +52 322 222 4945 Open Hours: 11:30a-4a	This is a zoo with real cages - dance cages so anyone can climb in and let out their most primal moves to the music which plays constantly. Some of the patrons find the cage bars handy to hang on to; the drinks flow fast, cheap and furious here, always 2 for 1. The sound system is marvelous and usually is blasting out techno, dance, and rap, but anything with a powerful enough beat to keep the crowd moving is likely to play eventually. This is another big spring break favorite with the under-30 crowd. Admission varies by night, so call for details.
J&B Salsa Club Avenue Francisco Medina Ascencio Km 2.5 Puerto Vallarta 48380 Mexico +52 322 224 4616 Open Hours: 9p-6a	If you are a night owl, this is the place for you. The doors don't even open to the public until 9p, and the action doesn't even begin until after midnight. The music is Latin based and draws a large crowd with its rhythms and noise. Live bands are the entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays and they play all kinds of music from salsa to samba. It is a great place to go dancing and mingle with fun people.

Vallarta 278 Puerto Vallarta 48380 Mexico +52 322 222 1899 Open Hours: noon-6am daily	Club Paco Paco is renowned in the gay world, and is a popular destination with tourists. It also attracts more women than the other clubs. The main room downstairs is a 70's-style disco for dancing and drag shows, and behind the main disco area is The Ranch, formerly known as Paco's Ranch, a Country & Western-themed area. The Ranch also has a cantina with games and live entertainment on the second and third floors. Emporium by Collage Calle Proa, Marina Vallarta Puerto Vallarta 48350 Mexico +52 322 221 0505 Open Hours: 10a-6a	Bored? Head on over to the Marina area where this hub of activity provides something for everyone. Many types of amusements can be found here: from a relatively docile bowling alley, to a well-equipped video arcade stocked with the latest games, to a billiards room. If you're more attracted by a different sort of game-playing, the lively disco provides dancing to an ever-changing roster of live bands. A sushi bar offers great food until 1a. The crowd tends to be college-age young, and the attire is varied. Any attire except blatant beachwear is acceptable at this varied club.
De Santos Morelos 771 Puerto Vallarta 48380 Mexico +52 322 223 3052 Open Hours: 5p-1a, bar open until 4a on weekends	The minimalist, fashionable and very popular De Santos restaurant, offers some of the most innovative cuisine in the city, featuring culinary creations with Mediterranean influences. After dinner, the place is transformed, and the bar area takes over, as the place is transformed into a hip nightclub. The place is set up so the acoustics fill the place, and the music is ever present. The DJ takes requests, so the musical landscape changes with the whims of the crowd. The afterhours clientele ranges from the mid-20's to early 30's crowd.
Hard Rock Cafe Malecon, Paseo Diaz Ordaz 652 Puerto Vallarta 48300 Mexico +52 322 2 5532 Open Hours: 1p-2a M-Su	Following the tradition started in London, England in 1971, the Hard Rock Puerto Vallarta is a popular place to visit. The menu serves traditional American fare, big burgers and fajitas. The extraordinary circular bar area, allows for socializing, drinking and a great place to watch live music. Every night, except Wednesday, a live band performs from 10:30p and is generally enjoyed by tourists and locals alike.
